Willow Bank Park and The Souterrain – “Jack Be Nimble”


About the video: We at Calliope Video were tasked with developing unique, creative marketing for Willowbank Park, a new real estate development, and for The Souterrain, an independent band. We created a story-driven music video, featuring original music (sorry, Youtube, but you can’t block this video on copyright grounds!) and a performance by Lauren Norton of the band, all with the home at the center. These homes generally appeal to couples with young families (or those looking to start families), relocating from urban areas. Willow Bank wanted to do more than just offer a “virtual tour,” and instead asked us to brand their homes in a way that would appeal to potential buyers on a number of levels at once. The band are looking forward to reaching a larger audience with their music through the exposure that video can provide. Brant Snyder’s Columbia MSRED Program Summer Studio Project


This is a 3D rendering for a proposed project that I’ve been working on in my 2011 summer studio project for the Columbia Masters in Real Estate Development (MSRED) Program. It is a mixed-use master planned community featuring a mix of office, residential, retail and hotel. The project is designed to orient around several public squares, including interior pedestrian-only walkways lined with retail. The project’s central square features a 30000+ square foot public library that is located beneath the square. A significant use of glass pavers, as well as a large open stair and glass pavillion bring substantial light into this space to make it feel open and inviting. The project is located on the northern border of West Chelsea bounded by 11th avenue to the east and the West Side Highway to the west and 27th and 30th streets to the south and north. It is located just below the 3rd phase of the Highline elevated park and the planned development of Hudson Yards. The project is meant to act as a buffer between the high density of Hudson Yards and the lower density of West Chelsea, with taller buildings to the north and shorter buildings to the south.
